Description of Kids’ Programs

Ages 6 and under

BABY GOOSE (0-11 months)
It’s never too early to bring babies and books together.  Babies and their caregivers will enjoy a half-hour of rhymes, songs, finger plays, stories and bounces.
Winter 2018: $18 for a 6 week session
Tuesdays  January 9 – February 13    1:30-2:00 pm
or Wednesdays  January 10 – February 14    9:30-10:00 am
Pre-registration is required. 

ONE IS FUN (12-23 months)
Enjoy stories, rhymes, puppets, scarves and more in this half-hour interactive program for toddlers and their caregivers.
Winter 2018: $18 for a 6 week session
Wednesdays  January 10 – February 14    10:30-11:00 am
Pre-registration is required.

TAPPING LITTLE TOES (ages 2-4)
A half-hour program that incorporates music into the entire session. Music-based books will be read, and there will be rhymes, songs, puppets, musical instruments, and lots of movement. Caregiver involvement required.
Winter 2018: $18 for a 6 week session
Thursdays  January 11 – February 15    10:30-11:00 am
Pre-registration is required.

MEGA BLOCKS (ages 2-4)
A 45 minute program to play and build with Mega Blocks.
Winter 2018: Friday, January 12   10:30-11:15 am
Free, but pre-registration is required.

PLAYDOUGH (ages 3-5)
A 45 minute program to make and play with playdough.  Laminated mats and playdough will be sent home.
Winter 2018: Friday, January 26  10:30-11:15 am
Cost: $3 / class  Pre-registration is required.

Ages 6 and under

STORYTIMES (ages 2-6)
A half-hour program with stories and songs.
Fall 2017: September 11 – December 16
Winter 2018: January 8 – February 17
Mondays  10:30-11:00 am
Tuesdays  10:30-11:00 am
Saturdays 10:30-11:00 am
Free, but space is limited. A peanut-free cookie will be served at all Storytime sessions. (Avoid if child has any other food allergies.)

JOLLY PHONICS (age 4)
The focus of this program will be to learn to print letters. The child must be able to hold and use a pencil properly.
Fall 2017: $33 for an 11 week session
Wednesdays October 4 – December 13   4:00-5:00 pm
Pre-registration is required.

JOLLY PHONICS (ages 5 & 6)
This program will teach reading and writing through a systematic phonics program. Teaching the main 42 sounds of English will help students blend sounds to form words, and then to read. They will also write by identifying the sounds in words and relating the letters to those sounds. Child must be able to hold and use a pencil properly and already have a basic ability to make their letters.
Fall 2017: $66 for 22 classes
Tuesdays and Thursdays October 3 – December 14   4:00-5:00 pm
Pre-registration is required.

LEFT OVER CRAFT DAY (ages 2-6)
Monday December 11   1:00-1:30 pm
Free. Drop in.  Supplies and space are limited.

Ages 7 and older

CHESS CLUB (ages 8+)
Come and play chess with other kids.
Fall 2017: Mondays September 11 – December 11   4:00-5:00 pm
Winter 2018 Mondays January 8 – February 12     4:00-5:00 pm
Free, but pre-registration is required.

CREATIVE TECH TRY-IT (grades 6 – 8)
Try all of our fun creative tech: greenscreen, makeymakeys and more.
Winter 2018 Friday, January 19    2:00-5:00 pm
Free, drop in, but space is limited to 12 participants at a time.
