June for Teens
June 9, 2016
I know you’re busy with school, but if you can spare some time to come to the library, we’ve got lots for you!
Teen Advisory Group, where we’ll plan for our summer events and discuss new plans for the library expansion and teen space, is June 16, 4-5 pm.
Also on June 16, 7-8:30 pm, the Women’s Support Network is having an info session about human trafficking in York Region and how to prevent it from happening to someone you care about (teens and adults).
Our closed library, after-hours summer kickoff is June 24, 6-9. Arrive at or before 6:00 to get “locked in” to the closed library. We’ll have snacks, games, ping pong, movies, a photo booth, and more. We’re talking about doing a Snapchat geofilter for the event – anyone on Snapchat and interested?
Finally, the teen summer reading program, where you get a ticket for each book you read, and can win a Samsung tablet or a gift card, starts June 27. Hope you’ll all participate!
The kids’ summer reading program also starts June 27, and they’re still looking for teen volunteers to be read to by kids. If you’re interested and haven’t yet applied, do so ASAP in the library.
